Why do I pay membership fees?

As an independently incorporated association, membership is a legal requirement.

Partial funding by Defence funding programs, and a completely volunteer leadership base, allows us to request a minimal association membership fee. It ensures we can always cover basic costs such as insurance for rehearsal and performance spaces, sheet music and music licensing.

Financial members can borrow a music folder and access practice tracks through the website so they can practise the repertoire at home. Members are covered by insurance when they perform. Members can vote in association annual general meetings.

What do I get when I pay
my fees?

Do I have to perform with the choir?

DO I HAVE TO PURCHASE A UNIFORM?

WHAT HAPPENS IF I LOSE MY FOLDER?

The choir foremost provides a safe place for all members to sing for their hearts at regular rehearsals.

Performance is encouraged but is not compulsory.

There is a uniform available from the AMWC online shop and worn by members during performances.

Purchase is optional and members are welcome to wear their own black clothing.

Every member is given a music folder at the beginning of their membership period. If you wish to add strings to it, please watch this video tutorial.

If you do not return your folder at the end of the year to your coordinator, you will be charged the cost of replacing the folder and the sheet music.
