AMWChoir at Admiralty House

by Claire Mason

As our Facebook followers may have seen by now, last Saturday saw a contingent of the Australian Military Wives Choir perform at Admiralty House in Sydney.  We were thrilled to be asked by the Partners of Veterans Association to sing at their reception being held at Admiralty House and hosted by the Governor General and Lady Cosgrove.

For many of the choir members this involved a road trip from Canberra to be there, and we had a great time on the bus singing, chatting, and practicing the appropriate protocol - "Your Excellencies, may I present..."

We were warmly welcomed, and we were honoured to be able to sing our signature song, Military Wife.  It was a very moving to see that the words and spirit of the song touched many of the audience, and a lovely opportunity to share what it means to be supporting currently serving defence force members.

A big thank you to our hosts, the Governor General and Lady Cosgrove, the delightful ladies of the PVA, and our participating choir members (and we can't forget our fabulous bus driver!).
